SKA Male Feedpans

SKA 'Atos' and 'Lyra-G' automatic pan feeders for cockerels use the same suspended centreless auger conveyor which is designed to dispense a very similar quality of feed into all of the feed pans in the line, at the same time.
To achieve this the male feeders use a higher capacity auger coil, a faster drive unit, a low level switch in the hopper to ensure that it never runs out of feed, and special shaped outlet holes in the three metre long galvanized steel conveyor tables, which are installed in a progressively rotated position along the building, according to the length of the auger and the spacing between the pans.
The system works so efficiently that the large majority of users leave it in the feeding position all of the time and choose to have manually operated winches, although powered, automatic raising and lowering is available too.
One of either type of feed pan is used for between eight and ten or more cockerels.
The 'Atos' feeder has a substantial galvanized steel clamp assembly to fix it firmly to the conveyor tube to prevent any swinging, and four 6mm diameter steel arms to hold the feed pan in place and give unrestricted access to the feed.
The more recently introduced 'Lyra-G' feeder had a plastic upper section with four slim 'arms' two of which are attached tightly to the 45mm galvanized conveyor tube by steel clamps.
The 'Lyra-G' costs less to produce than the 'Atos' type which is reflected in the price, but it works equally well.
