ELM Lighting

At the heart of our lighting program are the Orion-ELM adaptors with from 5 to 11 watt warm white or 7 and 11 watt coloured monochomatic (green, blue or red) compact fluorescent lamps.
The adaptors, or ballasts, are industrial/agricultrual quality, designed and built for reliability, longevity and economy above other considerations.
The long life, low energy consumption two pin plug in lamps are easily replaceable, and the adaptors have proven to last between five and ten times as long, and are said to be able to start up to thirty thousand times.
Using one of the original manufacturers own controllers, the lamps are dimmable down to about half of full brightness, which makes them suitable for all livestock.
The coloured lights have been developed primarily for poultry, but turkeys and small pigs have been shown to respond well to blue lighting.
Pullets can be reared very successfully under green lighting.
Broiler Breeders and commercial layers have performed extremely well under red lights, which has also been shown to be a great help with controlling feather pecking.
Broilers consistantly grow well, with very low mortality levels and excellent feed conversion, under a combination of green and blue lights (See photo above).
The latest dimmer is programable with built in timer and lighting patterns with all the required on and off periods for either pullets, layers or broilers.
See our 'New Products' section for more details of this.
We also supply very attractively priced top quality festoon lighting cables, which can be made up to almost any length and spacing of either the Bayonet type or Edison Screw lamp holders.
The cables are double insulated and suitable for outdoor use in harsh conditions, making them ideal for all kinds of livestock housing environment.
