SKA '709' tube feeders are ideal for using with an automatic, overhead auger or cable/chain and disc conveyor and is suitable for meat birds, turkeys, ducks, guinea fowl or pheasants.
The upper part of the feeder is an almost cylindrical plastic tube, with a capacity of about 8 Kilograms.
The tube can be raised or lowered on the central tubular steel stem to vary the depth of feed available to the birds.
The stem is attached to either a 330mm diameter, 75mm deep pan, or the optional 500mm diameter 160mm deep pan which is for up to 65 turkeys from around 40 days of age upwards.
The pans are easily interchangeable, and both are plastic. The smaller pan can be fitted with an extension collar to increase the diameter to 400mm for up to 31 layers.
An alternative plastic tube feeder is the 18 to 20 Kilogram capacity '243' type, which has a 450mm diameter, 75mm deep feed pan and an aluminium central stem.
It is hygenic, easy to clean, and supplied with a cover for the tube, to prevent birds eating from the top or getting inside.
A rain cover is available for outside use.
Each feeder provides feeding space for 35 layers to 'freedom foods' standards, and is also suitable for turkeys, guinea fowl and pheasants.
Our economy range of galvanized steel tube feeders have capacities of 5, 18 and 40 Kilograms.
Each has a central steel stem which is fastened to the high point in the centre of the circular pan.
The tapered 'tubes' have upper and lower cross braces with holes in the middle, which slip over the central rod.
The depths of feed in the pan is varied by inserting a spring 'R' clip through one of the series of holes in the stem.
Each feeder can be supplied with a plastic cover for the top of the tube, to stop birds from perching on the rim to eat and tilting the whole assembly.
